This 16 hour Red Cross course is a comprehensive blended course (8 hours online classroom) offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

Upon successful completion of the Basic Life Support & CPR course, graduates who are healthcare providers and trained first responders will be able to provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings.

The course is 16 hours in total and is delivered in a blended format. It consists of 8 hours of online learning and 5.5 to 7.5 hours of in-person classroom instruction. The blended format allows flexibility in training.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a 3-year certification in Standard First Aid, Level C CPR, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) usage.
Yes, there is a recertification option available. The Standard First Aid recertification takes approximately 6.5 to 7.5 hours and includes CPR Level C and AED training. This option adheres to local legislation.
