MCG Career College's Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program has received formal re-accreditation from Accreditation Canada — one of the country's most respected healthcare accreditation bodies. The designation confirms that MCG's DMS graduates meet national clinical competency standards before entering practice.

The re-accreditation, which follows a comprehensive site review and curriculum evaluation completed in February 2025, is valid for a full five-year term. Reviewers assessed everything from faculty qualifications and clinical placement quality to equipment, simulation labs, and graduate employment outcomes.

What Re-accreditation Means for Students

Accreditation Canada's designation is not a formality — it is a rigorous peer-review process that ensures a program delivers on its promise to students, employers, and the public. For DMS students at MCG, it means their diploma is nationally recognized and that their clinical training meets the same standards as the country's leading hospital-based sonography programs.

"Re-accreditation is a direct signal to our graduates that their credential carries weight — nationally, and in every clinical setting they walk into."
— Dr. Sandra Morel, President, MCG Career College

Program Strengths Highlighted by Reviewers

The Accreditation Canada review team highlighted several areas of distinction in their final report:

Looking Ahead

Following re-accreditation, MCG announced an expansion of its DMS clinical hours and a new advanced simulation module launching with the Fall 2025 cohort. Prospective students interested in the program are encouraged to apply early — cohort sizes are intentionally kept small to preserve clinical placement quality.
