New Calgary college elevates health and wellness training

NEWS RELEASE — Health and wellness education has been elevated in Calgary as a new technical training institution begins training the future leaders of our community. MCG Career College officially opens its doors this fall with a focus on relevant education, top instruction and flexible programming.

A private vocational college, MCG Career College offers a growing portfolio of programs and courses that empower students with the confidence and skills they need to become leaders and business owners in our community. Above all, it’s built around flexibility.

“The new ‘typical’ student can’t stop life to go to college,??? says Carmen Sheridan, Dean of MCG Career College. “Whether they are just out of high school or changing careers, they need a program that is set up to balance their many other commitments. We harness technology to support a flexible learning environment for students. MCG Career College programs are designed to fit around your life, not the other way around.???

While massage therapy classes are already underway for the fall semester, there are still limited spaces available in the Medical Office Assistant and Unit Clerk (MOA) program, starting Oct. 21, 2019. Students who register for the fall MOA session will be job ready by the Spring of 2020 and ready to apply for one of the many positions available in both Calgary and the rest of the province.

“Our MCG instructors remain active in the industry, keeping them at the cutting-edge of what’s happening in the health and wellness field,??? explains Sheridan. “That advanced insight keeps us at the forefront of innovation, allowing us to adjust our curriculum to ensure our students are an immediate asset to their employer upon graduation.???

In addition to massage therapy and MOA program options, MCG Career College provides training for both individuals and groups looking for Basic Life Support and CPR training, and Standard First Aid.
