Job Title: Instructor, General Courses
Location: Remote (Virtual, Synchronous Instruction)
Schedule: Evening Shifts (Approx. 4 hours/day, 5 days/week with some variation)
Employment Type: Contract, Week-to-Week Scheduling Minimum
Reports To: Director of Education or Designate
Wage: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Position Summary:
MCG Career College is seeking a qualified and passionate Instructor, General Courses to deliver virtual, synchronous instruction to adult learners across a range of foundational subjects. Evening availability is essential, with most classes occurring remotely via a secure online platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and professional instruction in one or more general education subjects, such as:
- Academic Strategies
- Academic Writing (APA 7)
- Computer Applications
- Business Math
- Business Communications
- Other general education courses as assigned
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, and assessments aligned with curriculum outcomes.
- Provide constructive feedback, grading, and student support in a timely manner.
- Ensure classes are conducted in a professional virtual environment.
- Use Moodle or similar LMS platforms to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with the Director of Education or designate regarding scheduling, student progress, and instructional needs.
Qualifications:
- Certified Instructor through a recognized program (e.g., National Association of Career Colleges, Mount Royal University Adult Education Certificate, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a Canadian college environment.
- Strong knowledge of adult education principles and remote instructional best practices.
- Familiarity with Moodle is considered a strong asset.
- Comfortable with technology and capable of troubleshooting basic issues in a remote setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Additional Information:
- Courses are scheduled on a weekly basis, with a minimum one-week commitment at a time.
- Instructors must teach from a professional, quiet environment suitable for virtual delivery.

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
